Smart Card Connectors from Taicom open up new application opportunities

Two standard type, through hole connectors from Taicom are designed for the insertion of smart cards to ISO7810/7816 specifications.

Designated the TSC series these parts allow customers to consider the convenience and standardisation of smart cards for a wide variety of applications ranging from security, metering and data input through to process control.

Intended for protected environments they are housed in black flame retardant bodies to UL94V-0 and incorporate locating pegs to aid PCB alignment and card support. Available in 8 and 16 ways, each version is fitted with a normally open end switch for card detection and has an industry recognised pin-out. Self-cleaning contacts ensure high reliability and provide a life expectancy of 100,000 card insertions.
