Single-phase PCB-filters target DC-DC power modules
Two-stage filter circuits with high component values are key to the provision of exceptional attenuation performance, compared to traditional PCB-mounting filters. Additionally, the adoption of small-scale components is crucial to the combination of high performance with the smallest possible module size. Being DC only, the FN 409 series filters are expected to be widely adopted by manufacturers of board-mount DC-DC converters, IT-equipment, telecoms, UMTS-modules and similar areas, where high-efficiency DC filtering is essential. The filters are designed for an operating voltage of 75VDC, with two current rating options, 6.5A and 13A. A UL94V-0 rated plastic housing features pin connections for PCB-mounting. The units will operate in a wide temperature range, from -40°C up to +100°C. The overall filter dimensions match the size of common DC-DC power converters. The height is 11.7mm (for the 6.5A version) and 12.7mm (for the 13A version), in common industry-standard full-brick, three-quarter-brick, half-brick and quarter-brick board-mount power modules.
