Nover, the high quality manufacturer of electrolytic capacitors, have a wide variety of large can types to suit a diverse range of applications. Amongst the most popular of Nover’s large can electrolytics are the LS, LH and LA series detailed immediately below: |
LS series - standard
Consisting of 2 pin snap-in capacitors with an operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C, they have an endurance life expectancy of 2000 hours at their maximum limit of 85°C. However, life is considerably increased by reducing the working voltage and temperature within the end application.
The LS series is designed for general-purpose use, such as power supplies or other applications which demand a high capacitance and high ripple current. Available in voltage ratings from 16V to 450V and capacitance values from 47µF to 33000µF as standard, Nover are also able to offer other ratings and values to special order.
The series utilises snap-in terminals on an industry standard 10mm pitch, whilst a choice of can size on numerous values ensures maximum versatility.
LH series - high temperature
Complementing the above LS series, these 2 pin snap-in capacitors have an increased upper temperature limit of +105°C with an endurance life of 2000 hours at 105°C.
Designed for use where a higher ambient temperature will be present, the LH series is also well suited to applications where longer life expectancy and higher reliability is required when operated at lower temperatures.
Like the LS, they are available in voltages from 16V to 450V and capacitances from 47µF to 33000µF as standard. Again, other ratings and values are available to special order.
LA series - low ESR
A 2 pin snap-in low ESR range of capacitors with an operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C and an endurance life of 2000 hours at +85°C. The Low ESR characteristic of these capacitors makes them particularly suitable for audio based equipment and power supplies or any other application where a greater ripple current is required over the standard LS series.
Available in voltage ratings from 50V to 100V and capacitance values from 4700µF to 22000µF as standard, with other ratings and capacitance values available to special order.
As well as the above large can electrolytic capacitors, Nover also offer 3 more specialised ranges as follows:
LE series - lug terminal, high value & high ripple
This range incorporates lug terminals for direct connection via soldered wires and has a maximum temperature rating of 85°C. Suited to more industrial applications where the capacitor cannot be mounted on a PCB, the LE series offers high capacitance values (up to 68000µF), high ripple current ratings (up to 8.6A) and a wide voltage range of 16V to 450V as standard.
CE series - screw terminal, high value & very high ripple
Incorporating M5 screw terminals, this range suits a wide variety of industrial applications which demand very high ripple current ratings such as power supplies, inverters and computer equipment. Again, where the capacitor cannot be connected to a conventional PCB, the screw terminals on these capacitors allow connection using wires terminated onto ring terminals.
With a maximum temperature limit of 85°C the CE series has an endurance life of 2000 hours at 85°C. Voltage range covers 25V to 450V, capacitance values are available from 680µF to 68000µF and ripple current ratings reach 32.5A.
MS series
Nover are also able to offer this range of electrolytic capacitors which are designed specifically for Motor Start applications. Fitted with lug terminals like the LE series they are optimised for high performance operation on AC motor loads.
Available in voltages from 110V to 300Va.c. and capacitance values from 25µF to 500µF, the MS series offers excellent endurance of between 30,000 & 75,000 applications and a high withstand voltage of 1500Va.c. The MS series is particularly suitable for compressors, water pumps, air conditioning systems and other similar equipment.
