STMicroelectronics introduces high efficiency DC/DC PWM synchronous step down converters

STMicroelectronics has introduced the L6726A and L6727 high efficiency DC/DC controllers, with integrated MOSFET drivers for high current step down conversions, suitable for a wide range of applications requiring space saving solutions.

The devices are ideally suited for situations where high conversion efficiency is important plus where a wide input of 1.5 to 12V and an output of more than 1A is required.

Features of the controllers include an output voltage adjustable down to 0.8V due to the low voltage reference, a fixed switching frequency and adjustable over current protection. The L6726A offers a programmable soft start feature whilst the L6727 has overvoltage and undervoltage protection.

The devices are available in an SO8 package.
