STMicroelectronics introduces the world’s first 3.4Gb/s active HDMI V1.3 equalizer

STMicroelectronics High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) product portfolio has recently been enriched with the introduction of the STDVE003A, a 3:1 HDMI equalizer IC.

It is the world’s first 3.4 Gbit/s active HDMI switch supporting true-HD displays of 16-bit deep colour (1080p).

The STDVE003A is compatible with the latest HDMI 1.3 standard besides the DVI 1.0, HDCP and I2C specifications.

It performs signal conditioning with a robust equalization scheme that allows signal recovery from long lossy cables at data rates of up to 3.4 Gbit/s. In addition to equalization, the chip includes a DDC buffer that eliminates any potential errors during EDID read from long capacitive cables.

The device also includes the HDP switch and has convenient pin-out for flow-through PCB design and is compatible with the most common HDMI switches available in the market today.
