Under the deal, Anglia will provide sales, marketing and design support to promote Cinterion’s entire product range. The agreement further extends Anglia’s wireless portfolio, enabling it to offer design-in solutions for a rapidly expanding variety of machine-to-machine (M2M) applications making use of the mobile phone network. Applications include remote utility metering, fire and security system monitoring, e-tolls, secure transactions, POS terminals, asset tracking systems and mobile computers. Arthur Woode, Cinterion’s UK and Ireland country manager said, “We were looking for an additional partner with proven expertise in wireless technology, and a solid understanding of the design-in process. Anglia was therefore a natural choice to help us grow our business in the UK and Ireland.” Commenting on the deal, John Bowman, Anglia’s Divisional Marketing Manager, highlighted Cinterion’s GSM/GPRS strength, “Cinterion leads the market with a wide range of cutting-edge wireless M2M solutions. The inclusion of this technology perfectly complements our existing product offering, firmly establishing us as a truly significant player in the wireless space”.
