Bourns launches its lowest resistance battery strap resettable fuse

Bourns® Circuit Protection Division has launched a battery strap resettable fuse called the MF-LL Series. The Bourns® Multifuse® product line has launched this product in response to an unprecedented demand for a miniature sized, battery strap product with ultra low resistance.

Using its lowest resistance PTC formulation to date, Bourns has produced a resettable fuse from a disk of just 3mm. Resettable fuses of such small size generally have quite high resistance values, but the new MF-LL Series breaks this assumption and boasts an initial resistance of just 7~15 mΩ.

Bourns launched this new resettable fuse for the fast-paced rechargeable battery pack market where low resistance is critical. Rechargeable battery packs for mobile phones, MP3 players, digital cameras and other portable electronics all have serious demand for resettable overcurrent protection with the lowest possible resistance.

As the electronics industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace, the launch of the new MF-LL Series continues to demonstrate Bourns’ commitment to next generation resettable fuse development.
