Industrial RJ 45 plug connector in Cat 6 from Phoenix Contact

ZFKDS Phoenix ContactPhoenix Contact has now made their Variosub RJ 45/IP 67 plug connector available for category 6. The tool-free, push-pull connectors and RJ 45 compatibility make it suitable for Gigabit Ethernet transmissions in industrial environments, in accordance with IEC 11801. Thus, it is possible to use conventional cables and test equipment from office environments without the need for cumbersome adapters.

To protect against dirt and dampness, the plug connector, as described in draft norm IEC 61076-3-106, is designed to protection category IP 67. The connector is built to withstand the chemical conditions and mechanical strains present in industrial environments. The components are amply insulated against adverse EMC conditions.

Phoenix Contact has developed an entire installation concept based on this plug connector. This means that products such as sleeves, sockets, couplings and pre-assembled cables are available for all usual installations. Equipped with a terminal outlet designed to protection category IP 65, it is now possible to use structured building cabling conforming to EN 50173 in the industrial sector.
