Wisbech, UK, 14 October 2009 – Nichicon, a world leader in capacitive components, today announced that it has appointed Anglia, the UK’s leading independent component distributor, as a design-in distributor covering the UK market.

Nichicon is the world’s largest manufacturer of capacitors by volume, and the second largest by value, and its range extends from miniature surface mount tantalum capacitors to large screw-in devices. Under the agreement, Anglia will support and stock an extensive portfolio of Nichicon components, with particular emphasis on standard aluminium and polymer devices in surface mount, through-hole and screw-in form.

Anglia Chief Executive Steve Rawlins commented, “Nichicon is known throughout the world for the quality of its products and technologies, and we are delighted to have the opportunity to take this outstanding range of competitively priced components to our customers in the UK. Nichicon is strongly committed to its distribution partners, and we have formed a particularly strong and productive relationship with their team here in Europe.”

Nedim Demirtas, Marketing Manager of Nichicon added, “Anglia is a strong force in the UK distribution market offering us an energetic sales team associated with excellent engineering support to help with design-in. We are particularly impressed by their program for integrating Nichicon components into reference designs based on Intersil and other semiconductors, which demonstrates the level of expertise and enthusiasm that they offer.”

About Nichicon
Nichicon Corporation was founded in Kyoto, in 1950. Since those early days Nichicon has become a leading manufacturer and supplier of aluminium, tantalum and film type capacitors, supporting a major share of worldwide demand. Nichicon has very large capacitor production resources in Japan and Asia. Nichicon also processes in-house 90% of their aluminium foil, which secures the raw material, ensures quality and enables continuous product development. Nichicon has all the necessary ISO, QS and TS approvals. Not content with the status quo, Nichicon is always pushing the limits of technology to provide new solutions for circuit design. The main themes of development are: miniaturisation, low ESR, high ripple current, longer life and higher temperature endurance. All Nichicon products are RoHS compliant and environmentally friendly designed.
