High CV low ESR MLCCs from AVX now protected against thermal and mechanical stress
|
AVX Corporation has introduced the MH range of high CV ceramic capacitors for commercial and high reliability applications. By mounting the MLCC in a moulded surface mount leadframe AVX now delivers a ceramic capacitor that combines the attributes of ceramic devices - very low ESR, non polar construction, excellent high frequency behaviour, excellent voltage stress capabilities and wide temperature range - with the enhanced mechanical protection of a moulded case. |
More, the MH range provides a lead free (RoHS compliant) solution for customers who have previously been unable to use large case size ceramic capacitors, or stacked ceramic capacitor solutions because of thermal / mechanical / environmental concerns.
Comments John McCarry, Product Marketing Manager, Ceramic Capacitor Division: “With the MH range, we are able to supply customers with a high capacitance MLCC component which is easily placed, surface mountable and mechanically tougher than any competing solutions. The internal ceramic technology used for the MH range gives customers the advantage of extremely low ESR and associated high ripple current capability, in an extremely tough package.”
The MH range is rated at up to 100V with a maximum capacitance of 22µF. Operating temperature is -55 to +125degC. Applications include: input /output capacitors for industrial and telecoms applications; smoothing circuits; HID; and automotive high CV applications previously impossible due to case size limitations.
