Cinterion's new generation of M2M terminals is available now: MC52iT/MC55iTs

Based on the powerful MC55i wireless module platform the improved Terminals offer additional functionality while remaining compatible with its predecessors TC35iT and MC35iT.

MC55i Terminal packs a Quad-Band GSM/GPRS baseband with TCP/IP connectivity into a compact plug-and-play housing. The robust housing includes a range of common interfaces as well as an integrated SIM cardholder which make the new generation to an all-in-one solution enabling voice, data, SMS and fax communication. With an extended temperature range, the reliable terminals can be used in a wide range of M2M business fields such as metering, remote maintenance, traffic system, transportation and logistics, and security.

The new generation of M2M terminals comes in two variants:

MC55i Terminal with Quad-Band GSM (850 / 900 / 1800/ 1900 MHz) and GPRS Class 10 supports global roaming and is suitable for higher data rates. Additionally, MC55iT provides a modem driver for
Microsoft (R) Windows7TM, Windows XPTM and Windows VistaTM

MC52i Terminal with Dual-Band GSM (900 / 1800 MHz) supports GPRS Class 8 for standard M2M applications.

Mechanical and electrical compatibility together with a compact migration guideline allow an easy and smoothless migration into the next generation of M2M terminals.
