World’s smallest ferrite beads from Murata save space in EMI filtering applications

To keep up with the industry's demands for miniaturisation, Murata has introduced the world's smallest ferrite beads. Designed for EMI filter applications in DC power lines, these components will help to reduce board space without compromising on performance.

The latest addition to the EMIFIL family of chip ferrite beads, the BLM02 series is available in the tiny 01005 size (0.4 by 0.2 by 0.2 mm), the world's smallest. They are capable of wide frequency range attenuation, typically 30MHz to several hundred MHz. Impedance ranges from 10 to 120 Ohms, with rated currents between 200 and 500 mA. DC resistance is below 0.8 Ohms for the whole series.

Other additions to the EMIFIL family include the BLM03A, BLM03B and BLM03P series of chip ferrite beads in 0201 packaging. BLM03A ferrite beads feature a high impedance line up of between 10 and 1000 Ohms. Rated currents are 100 to 500mA; DC resistance is 2.5 Ohms maximum. The BLM03B series is available with impedances between 10 and 240 Ohms and features low DC resistance of between 0.4 and 1.5 Ohms. The BLM03P series features high rated currents up to 900mA.

All these components are all available with an operating temperature range of -55 to +125 degC.
