Omron first to release a Tactile Switch with protective cover

Omron has announced the first Tactile Switch designed in such a way to avoid accidental and unintentional operation. The switch belonging to Omron’s B3F series has a size of 21 x 15 x 6 mm (L x W x H) and is equipped with a protective cover, which shuts automatically after usage.

This kind of switch is designed for applications where an operation of the switch will result in a change of permanent settings, amongst the numerous applications examples are; the Reset Function of Gambling and Amusement machines or a Configuration button for Industrial Applications.

The switch is available with a force of 1.27N (B3F-8000) with a life time of 3 Million operations min. The cover is designed for more than 5,000 operations.
