Wide input voltage range and industry standard footprint simplify design-in of MurataPS 6W single output DC/DC Converters

Murata Power Solutions have introduced a new range of isolated 6W, wide 4:1 input, single output DC/DC converters, the NCS6 series, suited for use in a variety of applications including telecommunications, battery powered systems, process control and distributed power systems.

The NCS6 series offers single output voltages of 3.3V to 15V from input voltage ranges of 9-36V or 18-75V, and are housed in an industry standard package with a standard pin-out. Enclosed in a metal case for improved EMI shielding, the NCS6 is also encapsulated for superior thermal performance.

FEATURES

  • 4:1 wide input voltage range (either 12V or 48V nominal)
  • Output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V or 15V
  • Output currents from 0.4A to 1.52A
  • 0.06% typical load regulation
  • Typical efficiency levels from 75% to 87%
  • High power density of 0.94W/cm3
  • Low noise
  • Under voltage lock out
  • Current fold back
  • No electrolytic capacitors
  • 1.5kVDC isolation
  • Operating temperature range –40°C to 85°C
  • Metal case and encapsulated design support
  • excellent thermal and EMI performance
  • UL94V-0 package materials
