STMicroelectronics launches tiny point of load 10A DC-DC converter module

The SPDC12L00010 module provides designers with a complete switching DC-DC power supply in a tiny, low profile land grid array (LGA) package.

Part of ST’s roadmap of high end power products, the new module offers an easy-to-use, highly integrated solution to implement a complete high power density point of load. The device, soldered to the motherboard like a standard IC, dissipates through the connection, therefore eliminating the need for a heat sink.


Small size

• Tiny footprint (15 x 15 mm), low profile (3mm) enables it to fit into even a very dense system
• Tiny point of load modules save space whenever this is a major constraint
• Its low profile design permits the tiny module to be soldered onto the back side of a circuit board, freeing up valuable board area

Easy-to-use

• Provides a complete point of load with a very short part count
• Stand alone module reduces development time

• 10A max output current
• Input voltage range from 1.8V to 14V
• Fixed or adjustable output voltage range of 0.6V to 5V
• Self protected against over-voltage and short circuit conditions
• Operating temperature: -40 to 85 °C
