STMicroelectronics releases vibration analysis demonstration board based on the STM8S207R6 MCU and LIS331DLH MEMS
Furthermore, the system can detect the tilt of the board, using a bi-colour LED placed at the centre of the board, and the circular motion by generating LED patterns. The system is also provided with a demonstration mode, in which different LED patterns can be displayed irrespective of the position/motion of the board making the system suitable for exhibitions and seminars. There are three musical modes in which the music/rhythm is played as per the mode/motion of the board and there are three silent modes making a total of six different modes of operation of the system. The system can be switched from one mode to other by pressing an onboard push button designated MODE. The system is put on the standby whenever there is no motion of the board for more than 10 seconds, reducing the power consumption. The system wakes up from standby whenever any vibration/motion is detected. The system also monitors the battery, and the user can check the battery status at any time. Whenever a low battery is detected, the system alerts the user to change the battery and enters into halt mode to avoid any misbehaviour of the system. The board has free MCU I/Os for the external interface and a SWIM connector providing an in-circuit debugging capability. Circular in shape, the board has total dimensions of 84mm diameter and 26mm height. Key Features
