Avalue's 48-bit LVDS supported
EMX-945GSE Mini-ITX motherboard with Atom™ N270 platform

Avalue has announced the industrial Mini-ITX form factor motherboard, EMX-945GSE, based on the Intel® Navy Pier platform. An Atom™ N270 processor with mobile Intel® 945GSE express chipset delivers optimal performance with lowest energy waste.

The EMX-945GSE supports both 48-bit LVDS and two channels of 18-bit LVDS with DVI interface (Refer to EMX-945GSE-DVI) for multi-display configurations. It enables users to have more flexibility when creating their own machines.

The Intel® Atom™ processor N270 is not only power-optimized but delivers dual-core like performance through its Hyper-Threading Technology, especially for cost-effective embedded solutions. Avalue’s EMX-945GSE motherboard supports DDR2 SODIMM memory up to 2GB; it comes with CPU and system monitoring, smart fan control, as well as watchdog timer. The module offers an excellent solution for embedded market segments such as digital signage, interactive clients (kiosks, point-of-sale terminals), thin clients, digital security, residential gateways, print imaging, and commercial and industrial control.

48-bit LVDS Supported
The EMX-945GSE motherboard features a 32-bit graphics engine based on Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with LVDS, DVI, CRT ports to provide multiple graphic displays. Furthermore, this module has an additional support for dual channel 24-bit LVDS in order to perfectly present high-definition video transmission especially when connecting with larger size (17 inch above) LCD panels. “We removed DVI and developed 24-bit LVDS as a pioneer to lead the market while most of competitors are launched with 18-bit LVDS. The rest of the features remain unchanged. With providing great graphic performance and high resolution (up to QXGA 2048x1536), the EMX-945GSE will fit the bill with its full features”, expressed Harris Chen, the manager of IMB Product Division of Avalue.

The EMX-945GSE comes with PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse, and four COM ports. Networking is provided by two Realtek RTL8111C Gigabit LANs. It provides one IDE connector, two SATA connectors, and six USB 2.0 ports. It also offers Realtek ALC888 5.1-CH HD audio with interface Line-in/Line-out/Mic-in, 8-bit GPIO, and Compact Flash socket. The board delivers high-bandwidth expansion slots with one Mini PCIe and one PCI slot for future add-in card upgrades. The EMX-945GSE is compatible with Win 2000 / XP / 98 / 95, Linux and Win CE operating systems for embedded applications.
