Key Facts:
The new synchronous buck converters drive two N-Channel MOSFETs arranged in a non-isolated topology. They both offer excellent latch-up immunity, while the MCP14628 features an enhanced light-load efficiency mode that conserves energy when the power supply is not in full use. The dual input MCP14700 driver is ideally suited for controllers that utilise 3.0V TTL/CMOS logic, as it can control high and low sides independently and offers flexible timing to accommodate different types of MOSFETs. The MCP1804 LDOs support an input voltage of up to 28V, producing an output between 1.8 to 18V at up to 150mA. Operating from a typical quiescent current of 50µA, they also feature a shutdown function which disables the output, dropping the quiescent current to just 0.01µA. Additionally, the LDOs only require 0.1µF input and output capacitance, allowing smaller and lower cost ceramic capacitors to be used. The MCP14628 and MCP14700 MOSFET drivers are available in 8-pin SOIC and 3mm x 3mm DFN Packages. The MCP1804 LDOs are available in 3- and 5-pin SOT23 and thermally capable SOT-89 and SOT-223 packages.
