Murata's improved performance wirewound chip inductors contribute to DC-DC converter efficiency

Murata's improved performance wirewound chip inductors contribute to DC-DC converter efficiency   Murata's latest 1212 size wirewound chip inductor series offers improved performance in the same compact, low profile case size. The LQH3NP_J0 series is designed specifically for DC-DC converter applications and features reduced DC resistance and increased allowable current.

Miniaturisation of today's electrical and electronic devices requires component manufacturers to increase the performance of components without increasing footprint. In DC-DC converters and power supplies, the performance of the power components directly affects the overall efficiency of the supply so is of paramount importance.

The LQH3NP_J0 series of wirewound chip inductors is low profile at 1.2mm maximum, and is available in 1.0 to 47uH denominations. The series features low DC resistance, down to 0.040Ω, and high rated current; up to 1.62A is supported. All parts are magnetically shielded to avoid electromagnetic interference with surrounding circuitry. Maximum footprint is 3.2 x 3.2 mm.
