OKO introduces the new full feature K42-T control relay and IP20 rated socket

Expanding its wide portfolio of relays, OKO have announced their latest addition to the already successful K42 miniature power range. The new K42-T is primarily targeted at the control panel market where visual operation of the relay is required for test and maintenance.

This is achieved in the K42-T range by both a mechanical flag which indicates the switched position of the contacts and a visual LED which indicates the coil status when coil power is applied.

To further aid fault finding, test and set-up procedures in industrial control panels the OKO K42-T series of relays also possess a test button which, by its latchable nature, allows an engineer to manually operate the contacts without having the coil powered. This particular feature saves engineer's time in not having to disconnect coil wiring and powering the coils independently.

The K42-T series shares all the other standard features offered by their original K42 series, some of which are listed below:

  • DPCO and 4PCO versions with switching current ratings of 5 amps and 3 amps respectively at 250Vac
  • Standard industrial footprints
  • PCB or Plug-in terminals
  • Arc barrier (4 pole versions)
  • High operating life
  • AC and DC coils
  • UL approvals
  • Competitive pricing

To complement the above ranges of relays OKO have also introduced a new DIN rail mounted, "finger protected" IP20 rated socket, the KSD4P.

This socket, being rated at 10 amps 300Vac (per pole), is an ideal choice for mounting the K42 plug-in series relays. By featuring tiered terminals it allows for ergonomic wiring to the switching pole side of the relay with the coil terminals being accessed from the opposite end giving high dielectric strength between the coil and contact terminals (>3kV). The new OKO socket can be universally used with 2 or 4 pole K42 relays, including the latest K42-T range, or any other compatible relay.

With safety in mind OKO have designed this socket with an IP20 finger protected housing fitted with rising clamp terminals and captive "combi" head screws. Dual terminal numbering is employed to IEC 67 and DIN 46199.

The OKO KSD4P socket can either be surface or DIN rail mounted, with a screwdriver release DIN rail clip provided for ease of removal from rail mounting.
