High power density CompactPCI™power supplies from Murata PS deliver full power across temperature range with high efficiency

Murata Power Solutions has introduced three new PICMG 2.11 compliant CompactPCITM high reliability power supplies. The cPCI-A-3U-300C, cPCIA- 3U 200C AC/DC power supplies and the cPCI-D-3U-300C DC/DC power supply are all housed in industry standard 3Ux8HP enclosures and are capable of delivering continuous full power across their -5ºC to +55ºC operating temperature range with airflows as low as 250lfm.

• 200W & 300W AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies in 3U form factors
• Continuous full power operation across -5ºC to +55ºC temperature range
• Leading power density of 8.5W/cu. in.
• Efficiency levels in excess of 80%

All three models have efficiency levels in excess of 80%, are hot-swap capable and require no minimum load. Power density is 8.5W/cu.in.

The cPCI-A-3U-300C (300W) and cPCI-A-3U-200C (200W) have a wide
input of voltage range of between 90VAC and 264VAC; the cPCI-D-3U-300C (300W) accepts 36 to 72VDC. Wide ranging input voltages combined with safety agency approvals to UL60950 and EN60950, EMI compliance to Class B FCC and EN55022 standards, make the new power supplies ideal for use in globally deployed systems in applications such as networking & telecoms, industrial, test & measurement and medical. All offer the standard CompactPCI output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V and -12V. The use of two converters operating in parallel for the 3.3V and 5V outputs enables maximum
current draw on the two outputs simultaneously.

Additional features of the new power supplies include active power factor correction to EN61000-3-2, remote sense compensation, unit enable control, output inhibit control, output fault signal, and thermal warning signal. LEDs provide visual indication of input power presence and output fault detection.

All three models are fully RoHS compliant and can be supplied modified to suit specific customer requirements.
