Intersil introduces industry-leading 40V JFET-input precision op amps featuring optimal bias current and ultra low noise

Intersil has introduced the first member of its family of new JFET-input operational amplifiers, expanding its growing family of precision products for the industrial, medical and sensor markets.

An impressive combination of industry-leading features makes the ISL28210 an excellent design choice for process control analog I/O, gas or fluid flow sensors, biometric high-impedance buffers for medical instrumentation. It also is ideal for robust industrial applications requiring high voltage signal conditioning such as data acquisition, ATE, and power distribution systems.

The new ISL28210 is an industrial temperature grade, 40V Precision JFET-input op amp featuring the industry’s optimal combination of low noise, low bias current, high slew rate, fast settling time, and low offset voltage.

Providing design flexibility, the ISL28210 operates in a wide 9V to 40V voltage range. It features innovative bias current cancellation techniques that deliver optimal performance at 300 Femto-Amps, reducing signal conditioning errors in analog input and making it ideal for high performance designs.  The IS28210’s input offset is just 300microV, with typical offset drift of 1 microV/oC.  Voltage noise is an industry best at 580nVpp between 0.1Hz to 10Hz. Input bias current is typically 300fA at 25C and an extremely low 4.5pA maximum at 60C, making the device ideal for instrumentation amps, charge amps and photodiode amps for emerging medical and laboratory instrumentation.  The ISL28210 also delivers a slew rate of 20V/microsecond with fast 900ns settling time resulting in excellent transient performance for ATE and data acquisition analog frontends.

Designed on Intersil’s proprietary precision silicon-on-insulator (SOI) bipolar process technology, the ISL28210 exhibits extremely robust latch-up immunity and high ESD ratings of HBM 4keV and machine model 400V, so it performs optimally in harsh industrial environments over the -40C to +125C temperature range.

The ISL28210 is available now in an 8-lead SOIC package.
