Bourns releases new 35W power resistor series in a TO-220 style package

Bourns has introduced the Model PWR220T-35, a radial-leaded resistor rated to 35 W continuous power in a TO-220 style package with a free-to-air power rating of 2.8 W. The PWR220T-35 has a sealed thermoset plastic housing and designed to be placed with its nickel-plated copper back against a heat sink for higher power dissipation.

The new Bourns® Model PWR220T-35 satisfies market requirements for higher power ratings. Bourns currently offers 20 W, 25 W and 30 W resistors in TO-220 housings.

The wide resistance range, pulse power handling and low inductance make the Bourns® Model PWR220T-35 a good choice for functions such as current limiting, current sensing, capacitor discharge in battery charging, AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC conversion circuits in uninterruptible power supplies, welding machines, automation, lighting, telecom power supplies, aerospace, automotive and railway equipment.
