Miniature waterproof plastic circular connectors from Hirose meet IP67 protection rating
To meet with the high demand for outdoor electronic equipment Hirose have introduced the HR30 Series circular connector range that includes plugs, receptacles, jacks and dust caps.
The innovative connector design incorporates gaskets, seals and a built-in strain relief to guarantee protection from dust and water penetration. The HR30 series can be submerged 1 metre deep for half an hour in the mated condition or in the unmated condition with the protective cap. This meets with IP67 protection rating standards. A lightweight plastic material is used for the shell and all components are non-corrosive.
The user friendly push-pull locking mechanism securely locks the mated connectors which is confirmed by an audible click. The connectors are simply pushed together and then quickly and easily disconnected by pulling on the plug’s release collar which has moulded-in grooves to aid with the grip of the connector. Another advantage is the visual white arrow alignment indicators and multiple polarizing keys that ensure correct alignment and engagement. Minimal tooling is required for the uncomplicated assembly of the plug.
Many varieties are available, with the 3 and 6 positions packaged in a 12.6mm diameter shell and the 10 and 12 positions in a 15.5 diameter shell. Further options include solder bucket, crimp or through-hole gold contacts.
