Analog Devices reference circuit available for complete 4 mA to 20 mA Loop Powered Field Instrument with HART Interface
Analog Devices reference circuits are engineered and tested for quick and easy system integration to help solve today’s analog, mixed-signal, and RF design challenges.
In this article we will be looking at reference circuit number CN0267 which details a complete smart industrial, loop powered field instrument with 4 mA to 20 mA analog output and a highway addressable remote transducer (HART®) interface.
Based around the ADuCM360 ultra-low power precision Analog MCU, the AD5700 single chip low power HART modem and the AD5421 complete loop-powered, 4 mA to 20 mA digital-to-analog converter (DAC), this reference circuit addresses a number of key applications including Process control, Instrumentation, Factory automation and Sensors for Pressure, Temperature, Vibration, Strain gauge and Chemical sensing.
Each reference circuit from Analog Devices has a demo circuit board available to allow customers to fully test their design with real hardware helping to accelerate customers' design cycles.
For this reference circuit the DEMO-AD5700D2Z board is available, which includes additional features for easy system evaluation including a 0.1 inch-pitch connector footprint allowing optional primary and secondary sensor connections. There are also test points for HART RTS and CD signals which may be needed for HART compliance tests.
