Introducing the 6000 series push-pull coupling Buccaneer connectors from Bulgin
The Buccaneer 6000 range of rugged waterproof connectors from Bulgin give engineers and product design professionals even greater flexibility in system designs. The range is available with power, signal and data connectors and features a unique and easy to use, patent pending push-pull latching mechanism, combined with a unique 30° twist lock that connects up to 10 times faster than a traditional screw thread mechanism, the lock is also tamperproof preventing accidental un-mating.
The Buccaneer 6000 range is designed to withstand the harshest environments and meets IP66, IP68 and IP69K standards making it ideal for applications where ingress of dust and water must be avoided and where ease of connection, space and appearance are important considerations. The range includes data (USB or Ethernet), signal and power versions up to 16A, 277V, and complements the popular screw thread Buccaneer range.
Available in fully interchangeable metal and plastic constructions with the latter utilising UL94-V0 rated flame retardant materials, the range is available in 2 to 22 poles and the body mouldings and pin carriers have been specifically designed to create a robust interface while avoiding damage during coupling. This design guarantees a correctly sealed connection in blind-mating situations even where access is restricted.
The range is available in chassis/panel and cable mounting options and includes a range of pre-configured overmoulded patch cords for the data connectors (USB or Ethernet) in single or double ended formats in popular 2, 3 and 5M lengths. Sealing caps are also available for the range which can be fitted to maintain the IP sealing of the connectors when they are un-mated. A comprehensive range of assembly tooling is also available.
