Introducing the FH12 FFC/FPC connectors from Hirose
Hirose has a long established reputation in the electronics industry for innovative, high quality connectors. The FH12 series of 0.5mm and 1.0mm pitch FFC/FPC connectors continues this legacy.
The FH12 series incorporates an innovative flip-lock rotational actuator which was developed and introduced to the world by Hirose. The innovative flip-lock design of the FH12 allows the FFC/FPC cable to be locked into the connector with one finger using minimal force, an important consideration for modern high speed assembly processes. The design utilises a highly reliable unique 'half tuning fork' style contact to form a reliable hinge point for the flip-lock actuator instead of relying on the housing walls. The actuator is fully supported along the whole length of the connector and guarantees superior performance and reliable connection. The FH12 series also incorporates a solder cavity that absorbs excess solder to ensure a perfect high quality solder joint every time.
Available in a choice of 0.5mm or 1.0mm pitch and a low height profile of 2mm, the FH12 series provides maximum space saving on the board. In addition the flip-lock design allows connectors to be placed side by side saving even more space.
A wide range of configurations are available such as top and bottom contact and vertical mounting with contact positions from 4 to 60 way, the parts have 0.5A current rating and a maximum voltage rating of 50VAC. The FH12 range has a mating cycle life of 20 and a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. A strengthened flip-lock option is also available for more robust applications.
