Harwin expand the Datamate high performance and high reliability connector range with addition of high power 40A contacts

The Datamate high performance and high reliability connector range from Harwin is approved to meet the exacting requirements of British Standard 9525-F0033. This conformity is made possible by Harwin's High reliability 4 finger Beryllium Copper Contact technology used throughout the Datamate range.

The Datamate contact features a 4 finger beryllium copper clip to ensure integrity of connection under the most severe conditions. This makes the Datamate range ideal for applications where safety is key or where the application is subject to high loads of vibration and shock or operates in harsh environments.

Datamate 4 finger Beryllium Copper Contact technology

The Datamate range has been expanded to include high power contacts that operate over high temperatures, these new high power contacts are available on a variety of standard Datamate Mix-Tek layouts. These new high power contact options have been added in response to industry demand where customers require a high current rating in a compact space. The new high power contacts double the existing current rating of the Mix-Tek range and offer current ratings from 20A up to 40A nominally (See de-rating chart below).

Current vs. Ambient temperature de-rating curves

The new Datamate high power contacts can operate over a wide temperature range, up to +150°C (with derating), and provide high performance levels in harsh environments, such as shock and vibration. The high power contacts are suited for any high temperature environment where high current and power are required including aerospace applications, the new contacts are gold plated to 30 microinches (0.76µm) to offer high durability.

The new high power contacts have been added to the Datamate range as standard products as part of the Mix-Tek off-the-shelf series which also includes popular 3A signal, 20A power and 50Ω coax variations.
