Introducing the UMAC Miniature High Capacity Energy Device from Murata
Murata has released the UMAC, a miniature device with a high energy storage capacity. The device has been developed to meet growing demand for compactness, large capacity, extended cycle life (to eliminate the need for replacement), low internal resistance, fast charging and discharging, and the ability to withstand load fluctuations.
The UMAC, can be used as a secondary battery in the same way as a capacitor would traditionally be used, however the UMAC, energy device exhibits superior charge/discharge characteristics and has an extended service life compared with conventional batteries. Furthermore the device is able to maintain a flat voltage characteristic under a wide range of load characteristics.
The UMAC, device has a nominal voltage of 2.3V and a capacity of 3mAh, ESR is just 800 milliohms and operating temperature range is 0ºC to +70ºC. The device can be discharged at a maximum rate of 10C (30mA).
