STMicroelectronics introduce high-performance mainstream MCU family, eval boards and samples available from Anglia
The STM32G071xx mainstream microcontrollers are based on STMicroelectronics high-performance Arm® Cortex®-M0+ 32-bit RISC core operating at up to 64 MHz frequency. Offering a high level of integration, they are suitable for a wide range of applications in consumer, industrial and appliance domains and ready for the Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.
The STM32G071xx devices incorporate a memory protection unit (MPU), high-speed embedded memories (up to 128 Kbytes of Flash program memory and 36 Kbytes of SRAM), DMA and an extensive range of system functions, enhanced I/Os and peripherals. The devices offer standard communication interfaces (two I2Cs, two SPIs / one I2S, one HDMI CEC and four USARTs), one 12-bit ADC (2.5 MSps) with up to 19 channels, one 12-bit DAC with two channels, two fast comparators, an internal voltage reference buffer, a low-power RTC, an advanced control PWM timer running at up to double the CPU frequency, five general-purpose 16-bit timers with one running at up to double the CPU frequency, a 32-bit general-purpose timer, two basic and two low-power 16-bit timers, two watchdog timers, and a SysTick timer. The MCU features clock management with an internal 16 MHz RC with PLL option (±1 %) and 32 kHz RC oscillator (±5 %) which are stable over the temperature range of the device. The STM32G071xx devices provide a fully integrated USB Type-C Power Delivery controller.
Block Diagram
The devices have an operating temperature range from -40 to 125°C and can operate with supply voltages from 1.7 V to 3.6 V. They have optimized dynamic power consumption which is combined with a comprehensive set of power-saving modes, low-power timers and low-power UART, making them particularly suited for the design of low-power applications.
The devices come in a choice of packages UFBGA, LQFP, UFQFPN and WLCSP with pin counts from 25 to 64 pins.
Design SupportThe STM32G071xx series is supported by the NUCLEO-G071RB development board with STM32G071RB MCU installed, the board provides an affordable and flexible way for users to try out new concepts and build prototypes with the STM32 microcontrollers, choosing from various combinations of performance, power consumption and features. For the compatible boards, the SMPS significantly reduces power consumption in Run mode. The Arduino™ Uno V3 connectivity support and the ST morpho headers allow the easy expansion of the functionality of the STM32 Nucleo open development platform with a wide choice of specialized shields. The STM32 Nucleo-64 board does not require any separate probe as it integrates the ST-LINK/V2-1 debugger and programmer.
The STM32 Nucleo-64 board comes with the STM32 comprehensive software HAL library together with various packaged software examples, as well as direct access to the Arm® Mbed™ online resources.
