Omron expand the popular G2RL series Relay with addition of high capacity 23 Amp model, samples available from Anglia

Building on the success of its popular G2RL series, Omron has now added an extra high capacity relay model to the family, the new G2RL-1A-E2 model is capable of handling switching currents up to 23A making it suitable for a wider range of higher power applications.

Available in coil voltages 5VDC, 12VDC and 24VDC with power consumption of approx. 400mW the G2RL-1A-E2 relay contacts have a mechanical life of 20M operations and an electrical life of 100K operations.

The G2RL-1A-E2 relay shares the same pinout and footprint as the standard G2RL-1A series allowing designers an upgrade path where products require a higher switching capacity. The G2RL-1A-E2 relay is available in SPST-NO (1a) contact form and has clearance and creepage distances of 8mm minimum.

 

Dimensions and PCB footprint

 

The Omron G2RL-1A-E2 relay features a low profile of just 16.7mm and is rated for operating temperatures up to 105°C. The relay has contacts rated at 23A / 250VAC switching capacity which is significantly higher than the standard range which has a maximum capacity of 16A / 250VAC, this is a 44% capacity increase. The relay also has a long electrical switching life of 100K operations at 23A / 250VAC at full rated temperature of 105°C.

The G2RL-1A-E2 relay features reinforced coil-contact insulation that is able to withstand a 10 kV Impulse voltage. The relay conforms to EN60335-1 for the Safety of Household appliances and has a Class F (UL1446) coil insulation system. The relays also conform to TUV(EN 61810-1) and UL 508/CSA C22.2 and CQC(GB21711.1) standards.

The G2RL-1A-E2 relays are suitable for use in a wide range of high power applications including Industrial equipment, Power supply, UPS, Inverter, Home appliances, HVAC Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
