Khatod develops SNAIL Lens for illuminating window and door reveals, samples available from Anglia.

The new SNAIL Lens from Khatod has been designed to enable interior and exterior windows and doors on buildings to be illuminated by highlighting the reveal and frame structures. Thanks to the SNAIL’s excellent blade-shaped beam, the Lens enables designers and architects to realise their vision when creating building lighting schemes.

Unique on the international scene, Khatod specifies and develops the entire product process 100% in house from their manufacturing facility in Milano, Italy. All the operations are held on site: design, development of new technologies, production, post-production processes and testing.

The SNAIL Lens has been carefully designed by Khatod to make it compact, unobtrusive and elegant, it gets its name from its distinctive shape which is reminiscent of a Snail. The Lens can be used for single colour or multicolour lighting schemes and is suitable for use with the wide variety of LEDs available on the market.

The SNAIL Lens can be used with clusters made of up to 4 LEDs with up to 2x2mm case size, LEDs can be single colour or mixed such as RGB and White to create complex full colour effects.

The Lens are compact measuring just 72mm x 45mm including the holder with a height of 27.74mm, despite its compact size the Lens have been designed to provide high optical performance and give an excellent blade-shaped beam ensuring the all of the available light is guided to where it is required.

The SNAIL lens and holder have been designed for ease of assembly and are extremely robust.

Constructed from Silicone (Lens) and Polycarbonate (Holder) materials the Lens have been tested to IK10 impact resistance and are water and dust ingress resistant to IP65 standard. Due to the high quality materials used in the SNAIL Lens construction it also offers excellent temperature performance, -40°C to +150°C (Lens) and -40°C to +120°C (Holder).
